Kim Davis And Homosexual Marriage

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  A lot of national attention has been given to Kim Davis and her refusal to issue marriage license to homosexual which led to her being put in jail.  As a Christian, I applaud her for following God when it comes to not supporting homosexuality, but she didn't follow God's word in the way she handled this.  I explain in this video blog and I also talk about what America should do when it comes to marriage.

Not My Country, Not My Government

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. How is everyone doing? I pray that this blog finds everyone in good health and spirits.

Things are going good in the Jones household. We are doing better financially but still have a lot of work to get to where we once were. It is amazing how far behind you can get in just a few years. It is just another reason why I must remain with CRST until I retire. But once we get caught up we can't stop. One reason we got into the mess we did is because I have been a poor steward of the money God has given us. I must start saving money once we get the bills paid.

There is something that is bothering me a lot. I hate the direction this country is going. And I am not talking about the fact that we are now an Oligarchy and no longer a Republic. If the people want an Oligarchy and put their faith in a human government, OK. What bothers me is how this country has become so hateful and selfish. How can I love something so hateful? Doing so would go against God. How can I pledge allegiance to any country that hates? How can I fly a flag represents a country that hates God and God's greatest creation?  I can't.

In recent years, my eyes have been opened to just how hateful this country is. People are being forced to go against their beliefs and pay for abortion causing pills, Christian companies are taken to court because they refuse to run their business contrary to their belief, and government keeps tying the hands of non-profit organizations that try to help others. Some will say that we just need to change government, it is the government doing this. Well, here is the problem, who elects those in power?  The people in power didn't just get there by magic. They were elected by the people. It is the people who want this. And here is what really woke me up. In recent weeks we have seen several videos that showed Planned Parenthood aborting babies and selling human organs and body parts. They even went as far as doing partial birth abortions and turning the baby around to protect the organs they needed. In the videos they even mention human organs, not tissue masses. No doubt that what they were killing and selling wasn't human. What was the reaction from the American people? Maybe a whisper. And it isn't just that the media that isn't reporting it. Take a look at the number of signatures on petitions to defund Planned Parenthood, what is trending on social media, and I bet you that the politicians that support funding Planned Parenthood will still get lots of votes. The American people support ending human life. Now lets take a look at a lions life. Cecil the lion was killed by a trophy hunter. Now, I am against trophy hunting. Not because I care about animals, but because I believe we should be good stewards over what God gives us. If you are not killing an animal for food, clothes, or defending humans or property, you shouldn't kill the animal. But when I see the Americans reaction to the killing of a lion, I am amazed. Not just on the news, but on Social Media and petitions. The number of people outraged over the killing of a lion far outnumber the people outraged over the killing and selling of human life. There are people who even say that humans who trophy hunt should be hunted and killed or injured. They love animals more than humans. The American people have spoken loud and clear. I can't support in any way shape or form hatred towards God's greatest creation. I can't support people, organizations, or countries that go against God. I can't support America. This isn't my country. I am a man without a country on this earth and will be until the return of my Lord.

Take care and God Bless,

A Lawless People, A Lawless Government, A Lawless Society

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  How is everyone doing?  I pray that this blog finds everyone in good health and spirits.  Everything is going good out here on the road.  Orientation class went smooth and so did lead driver class.  I have now been on the road for a week as a lead driver.  Well, I don't have a student yet, but should have one in a couple of days.  Actually, they do have one assigned to me, I just have to be routed by San Antonio, TX to pick him up.  I am currently in Laredo, TX waiting on another load and getting some much needed rest.  I have been running pretty good as a solo driver and have been given a brand new 2015 Freightliner Cascadia.

What I want to blog about today is lawlessness.  Society today tells us that lawlessness is good and promotes lawlessness.  We see it in our elected officials, on immigration, and we see people look at criminals as good guys and criminalize police officers.  We can look at history and the Bible and see that this is bad for our country and society.  The fact is that no lawless society can remain free.  The founding fathers have said that a government is a necessary evil for this very reason.  Without government and law, people can never be free.  The Bible tells us that unless government makes a law that goes against God, we must follow government law (Acts 5:27-29, Romans 13:1-14).  But in the United States, government also has a law it must follow too, doesn't it?  That law is the Constitution and it is the law of the land.  So it boggles my mind as to why people love lawlessness.  Why do we want to reward those who break the law?  Why do we re-elect people who break the law?  Why do we side with criminals and tie the hands of law enforcement officers? Why do we let people get away with lying and cheating? Is it human nature?  Should we just get rid of all laws and let everyone protect their own homes and family?  Where is the freedom in that?  If we are to remain a free society, we must really rethink things.  If we disagree with a law or with the Constitution, we should work to change it in the proper way, and it is OK to speak out against a law.  But until it is changed, we must follow the law ... unless a particular law goes against God.  Lets stop promoting lawlessness and lets stop supporting those (elected, immigrants, and criminals) who break the law.

I pray that this blog has been a blessing to you.  Take care and God Bless.

And The New Job Begins

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Creator, Jesus Christ.  How is everyone doing?  I pray that this blog finds everyone in good health and spirits.  Things are going on schedule here.  Friday was my last day at Ball Pipe and Supply and I start orientation class at CRST tomorrow.  This made for a very busy Saturday.  Today we went to church and then my wife dropped me off at a hotel in Oklahoma City so that I can be at the CRST Oklahoma Terminal tomorrow morning.  I will be staying at the hotel this week while attending orientation and the lead driver class.  By Friday I will be in my truck and have my first student.  It is bitter sweet.  I don't like the idea of being away from my family again but on the other hand, the money will be good and I have to admit, I do like driving OTR and teaching new drivers.  It is in my blood.  The big reason for doing this is that I hate not being able to provide for my family.  It drives me nuts to see my family not being able to get what we need.  It drives me nuts to see vehicles breaking down and not being able to fix them.  It drives me nuts to see our house falling apart and not being able to fix it.  I also don't like having to depend on the government to provide for my family.  I get very short tempered and upset when I don't have the money to take care of my family and our needs.  I have driven trucks for over 12 years and have a pretty good record.  There is no reason that I can't take care of my family.  That is the main reason I must do this.  That is also why my wife and I knows that this is the job I must retire from.  I must drive OTR for at least 20 more years.  If CRST is as good as they were when I first drove for them, I will retire with them.  My goal is to bring home at least $1000 a week when I work the whole week.

I know not everyone is on board with me doing this.  They want me to be home with my wife and kids.  But what good is being home when I can't provide for them?  Things are getting more expensive, not less.  Oil fields are not dependable employment.  The scrap metal industry doesn't pay good.  I need something that pays real good and is dependable.  OTR is both because very few people is able and willing to do it and, as long as people need items, truck drivers are needed.

Well, I have to be up early tomorrow and I have to be well rested.  So, I will go ahead and end this blog.  I am planning to blog a lot more now that I am back on the road.  I have a lot of things to blog about and have gotten far behind.  Y'all take care and God Bless.

When We Are Not Good Stewards

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior.  How is everyone doing?  I pray that y'all find this blog in good health and spirits.  We are doing pretty good despite all the rain we have had.  We have lots of work to do around the house this Saturday because of all the rain we got in May.  Our front yard and driveway flooded.  We have a small stream that runs across our driveway and front yard and it turned into a river.  The small bridge even floated away and I had to use t-posts to hold it in place. This Saturday I will work on the stream and mow the yard.

In July of 2010, I had to ask myself, "IS GOD PLEASED WHEN A PERSON DOESN'T USE THEIR GIFTS TO SUPPORT THEIR FAMILY?" (http://goo.gl/cZrPHB).  In recent months, I had to ask myself this same question. Now, things are different than they were in 2010.  We are not on government assistance, we are making a few dollars per hour more than in 2010, and I am driving trucks, but we are again living paycheck to paycheck. I quit Werner a year ago so I could be home with my wife and children.  I figured I could get a local driving job that would pay me enough to support my family.  Unfortunately, unless you are in a special driving career (oil, gas, ect.) local trucking companies do not pay that much.  I thought we could make it on the pay that Ball Pipe and Supply paid without assistance, but we couldn't do it.  As I have posted in the July 2010 blog, God as given me a great gift for me to glorify Him and support my family.  It is up to me to use that gift the way He wants me to.  I must do His will, not mine.  Being that we are struggling again, I believe that I am not using God's gifts for me correctly.  It is obvious to me that I must go Over The Road.

I filled out an online application that went to many companies on Wednesday night and first thing Thursday morning my phone was ringing off the hook.  I know, my young readers are not going to understand that statement since phones today don't hang on hooks.  I got over 30 calls from companies wanting me to drive for them.  Two of the companies was Werner and CRST wanting me to come back.  CRST did interest me because I did like them and I made real good money with them.  When I drove for them, I made over $1000 a week.  I also trained knew driver, got lots of awards, and I also worked in the Oklahoma City safety office.  When they contacted me, they wanted me back real bad and made me an offer that I couldn't refuse.  Of course, I didn't tell them that they already had me.  So, I sealed the deal and will start driving for them on June 22, 2015.  I gave my boss my two weeks notice today.  Now starts the hard part.  Continue doing a good job even though I know I am quitting.  But I do it because it is the good and moral thing to do.

Well, it is time for me to head home.  I will keep y'all updated on what I am doing and I will be seeing all of you fellow truckers on the road soon.  Take care and God Bless.

Huawei H867G Inspira Smartphone Review

I talk about the Huawei H867G Inspira Android Smart phone and what I think about the phone.

A New Easter Tradition

I started a new Jones Family Easter Tradition this year.  The children, my wife, and I had a wonderful time.  I bought a bunch of water balloons and put them in plastic Easter eggs and hid them with with real eggs and other plastic eggs filled with candy and treats. When the children found the eggs with the balloons in them, they were able to fill the balloons with water and throw them at me after the egg hunt.

Vehicle breaks down and youtube come to the rescue ... again.

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  How is everyone doing.  I pray that this blog finds everyone in good health and spirits.  The past several weeks has been very eventful for me and my family.

Several weeks ago, I slipped on ice while going to work.  My hands were full with my book bag, lunch, and other items, so when I fell, I fell on my elbow. I heard something in my shoulder crack and I was unable to get up.  Luckily, I ended up breaking my shoulder blade and not my elbow.  The doctor said that it normally heals in 6 weeks but it ended up healing in 3 weeks.  My employer, Ball Pipe and Supply was real good.  It wasn't worker's comp because I wasn't working at the time the accident happened.  But they allowed me to go on limited duty so that I didn't miss any work days.

This past Thursday, our car broke down.  My wife took me to work cause she needed the car to take our son to Therapy Works in Tulsa, OK.  When she left Ball Pipe and Supply, she stopped to get fuel.  She goes to start the car after fueling and the car didn't even try to start.  The lights worked, the chime worked, the battery tested positive, the the car wouldn't start.  No 'click' or anything.  She calls me up and we had to cancel our son's appointment at Therapy Works.  We have the car towed to Fred's just to find out that their mechanic quit.  Great, now what?  They were nice enough to look over the vehicle and figured that the starter must be bad but really couldn't be positive since the guy who looked at it was a tire guy. They were real good at telling me that they can't be sure.  Based on the fact that they were not mechanics (and I really doubted that it was the starter), I decided to see if we could get the car to another shop.  They called around to several shops in the area but none could look at the car until Monday.  Not good.  I asked a co worker if he could take my wife and I home and then pick me up Friday morning to go back to work.  After work Friday, I walk to the car (was picked up on my way by a co worker who saw me walking).  When I get in the car, I decide to try to start the car.  Immediately I notice that something is wrong with the ignition.  The key turned to the start position with no resistance at all and it didn't snap back to the on position when I let go of the key.  The problem was in the ignition and I didn't like it.  I have to admit, this vehicle intimidates me when it comes to working on it.  It is a 2006 Jeep Liberty and it is the newest vehicle I have ever owned.  It also has lots of fancy electrical things that I do not understand.  But, this vehicle broke down in Shawnee once before and I stumbled upon a youtube video that helped me fix the problem back then.  I decided to try youtube again.  I knew I was going to have to replace the ignition so I went on youtube and searched:  Replace ignition 2006 Jeep Liberty.  Lots of videos popped up in the results, but one caught my eye.  It was "My Jeep Won't Crank Over SOLVED".  This video was great.  It described the problem he had with his vehicle, which was the same problem I was having.  He explained that the problem was a bad ignition actuator and recommended changing both the ingnition switch and actuator and explained why. He showed how to get to the two parts, how to removed the parts (even named the special tool needed), and even went into detail on how the parts work.  He was very detailed.  The only thing I would recommend is for him to improve the lighting. Once I got the parts and tools I needed, the task was easy and went very smooth.  The hardest part was putting the covers for the steering column back together.

I will tell y'all something.  I hear a lot of people talk about the things that is bad about the internet, but there is a lot of good things.  It is filled with lots of information that can help us out a lot.  I probably wouldn't have been able to afford to have this done at the shop but because I was able to look it up on the internet and get the parts at Auto Zone, I was able to get the job done.  The other thing is that my confidence is building and I am not as afraid as I use to be to work on the car.  It goes to show how God can take a terrible thing (my car breaking down away from the house) and turn it into a good thing (I can do all things with God).  Y'all have a great day and God bless.
